The Aiken Housing Authority will be hosting an “Express Employment” Hiring Event on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, 9am-5pm at the Aiken Housing Authority’s Community Center. We ask that all participants bring their resume and be prepared to speak with the agency’s interview panel. Request For Proposal Cancellation

This letter serves as notification of the Housing Authority of the City of Aiken’s decision to cancel RFP 2021-001. As a result of new information discovered since the solicitation, and assessment of the related impact on the project, the Authority has determined it is in the best interest of the Authority to cancel the solicitation at this time. Once the Authority has resolved pending matters, a revised RFP will be advertised at a later date to be determined by the Authority.

The Authority appreciates and understands that potential respondents went through great effort in preparing a response for the RFP and apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused. Therefore, the Authority intends that, other than necessary revisions, the reissued RFP’s overall requirements and preferences will remain the same. As such, the Authority encourages potential respondents to submit their proposals after considering any revisions to the forthcoming reissued RFP.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) NOTICE

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued NOTICE PIH 2020-05 on April 10, 2020. This notice remains in effect until
amended, superseded or rescinded. Pursuant to the authority provided under the CARES Act, HUD is waiving and establishing alternative requirements for numerous statutory and regulatory requirements for the Public Housing program and Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. These waivers provide administrative flexibilities and relief to PHAs in response to the COVID-19 national emergency.

Coronavirus COVID-19

image of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)The Housing Authority of the City of Aiken is closely monitoring developments concerning the Cororanvirus (COVID-19) in our state and considers the health, safety and well-being of our families, staff and others in the community to be our highest priority. We join forces with Governor McMaster, health officials, and others in our state in proactively addressing this public health risk to our citizens.

We are implementing the recommended Center for Disease and Control (CDC) precautionary measures to promote social distancing and limiting our staff travel. We are confident that these actions will allow us to continue essential business functions in a manner that safeguards the health interest of everyone concerned. We also have contingencies in place for staff to work remotely in the event of an office closure.

COVID-19 has been declared a public health emergency on both the state and national level. The Housing Authority of the City of Aiken understands the tremendous health risk that COVID-19 poses to our community. Please be assured that we are taking “all necessary and appropriate actions” to help our state address this public health threat. We will contiue to monitor this rapidly changing situation and provide you with additonal updates as needed.
