On March 18, 2013 the Aiken Housing Authority Workforce Development Department started its first Work Readiness Skills Program training. The core of the program was to provide Adults and Dislocated Workers with the skills they need to be successful on the job. The participants were engaged in six work readiness skills to include time management, people solving skills, workplace etiquette, reading, writing, and technology (computer) skills training.
The coursework was completed over a two week period. Upon completion of the classes each participant will enter an Internship with an employer for a period of four weeks.
The graduation ceremony took place on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Aiken Technical College with four participants completing successfully.
